Warm and Dry in the South

People often think that it is always warm and dry in Morocco , through the Sahara. Yet the climate is not as one-sided as it seems. In the south and southeast of the country it is indeed dry and warm, as are the low-lying parts of central Morocco and the lower half of the coast. The summers are very warm, and the winters are mild. At more and more times of the year it can reach 40 degrees (such as during the May holidays and autumn holidays), it is quite difficult for the people there.

Earthquakes

Earthquakes can occur. We have never experienced it in all those years, but we have seen how it partly destroyed the country in September 2023. However, in general there is no reason not to go, provided there is no news from Morocco about this.

Sea climate

In Casablanca, for example , there is a maritime climate. In high summer it becomes sticky hot, but there can be a difference of 20 degrees compared to the south. The coastal towns such as Essaouira are perfect in summer: 28-32 degrees with a nice sea breeze. So there is a place where you can relax in every season.

Take nature seriously

At the coast, pay attention to the guidelines for swimming in the sea, the sea can have a dangerous current. Please take this seriously!

The weather can be changeable, especially in the mountains. So remember to take warm clothes with you when you go into the mountains, especially at night the temperature difference can be large.
