Morocco is not as cheap as you think. It is an immensely popular holiday destination, and outside the cities and really touristy places you can still book a room for very little, but in general we are now talking about European prices.
Marokko is een gigantisch land! Denk niet dat je heel Marokko in een vakantie kan proppen. Maak een mooie behapbare route, want soms lijkt het op de kaart of het nauwelijks kilometers zijn, maar doe je daar 6 uur over.
The summers are hot, it can easily reach 50 degrees. Unfortunately, it is also getting warmer in Morocco, so even during the spring and autumn holidays it can happen that it is close to 40 degrees in Marrakech. Autumn is really chilly. Even at 20 degrees it can be cold in the afternoon/evening and mornings. Definitely bring a sweater. It can also snow quite a bit in the Atlas Mountains. When it rains in Marrakech, it often snows in the mountains.
Take it easy! Choose tourist spots that you really want to see, but also just let things happen. Everything is different, it's a completely different culture. Immerse yourself in local customs and take it easy. So don't cram your holiday full, go for the spontaneous!
Sometimes it seems as if Moroccans act angry, or even aggressive. This is not the case. They talk with temperament, but when you think they are about to come to blows, they can suddenly start laughing and hugging each other. And very funny, they think the same of us when we discuss which color shell we will choose. There you have it!
